How To Be Your Own Best Friend

First you must detach:

Make time for your self, we are given one life, one body so its only fair you must take time out of your week to be with your self and do the things you love to do.

Detach your self from your mobile phone. Either turn it off completely or leave it on silent, this time is for you and for you only, mobile distractions can always wait.

Detach your self from Social Media. It’s a good idea to restrict your self from Face Book, Instagram and Twitter as it is time consuming and can be a trap for the ego.

 Mirror Mirror On The Wall:

Most people tend to be so critical on them self with our inner voice calling us (Fat, stupid, ugly, boring) these are not words of love. And how is it possible to love our self and achieve our hopes and dreams when we use such negative words.

5-Minute Mirror Challenge-

  • Find a Private Mirror in the House
  • Take off all Make up and sit comfortably in front of the mirror
  • Take the time to smile at your self in the mirror and give thanks to the body that you have been given
  • Repeat positive affirmations about your self e.g. “ I am Beautiful” “ My smile makes others smile” “ I am beautiful from the inside out” “ I love every thing about my body”
  • You can then start listing features of your face and body and giving thanks and love to each part of you.
  • This may be difficult to do and you may feel stupid doing it but look at your self and say out loud “ I Love You …

It is important to LOVE your self, so try this little challenge weekly.

Fall in love with YOU:

When its time to be with your self make it fun and exciting and do things that you have always wanted to do.

If you love fresh flowers go to the flower markets and pick out a fresh bunch of your favorite flowers, if you love nature then pick your self up and go for a bush walk, do the things that you LOVE to do and what makes you happy.

Be in silence:

Find a spot in the sun, sit there and just breath. Let the images and your imagination flood over you, for your fist time this will be difficult, as you will feel you have a million things to do but that anxious feeling will pass. Just concentrate on your breathing and be still.

I hope you enjoy learning about your new best friend (YOU)

Nikki
